Are hormones causing my acne?

Hormonal acne is one of the topics that, without fail, continues to pop up my DM's.

It’s not surprising. Hormonal acne is a notoriously tricky, and oftentimes a very frustrating, skin condition to treat. It’s also very common! But if we establish hormones are at the root cause of the acne, then we bring in strategies to improve hormone balance.

Hormonal acne usually (but not always) follows these general rules:
• Acne flares tend to come and go with your cycle
• Acne tends to be cystic – hard, deep painful cysts that take forever to
go away
• Acne is concentrated along the jawline, the chin and around the mouth
• If your acne does not follow these patterns it is likely that inflammation
in the gut or stress, are leading to increases in androgenic hormones (such as testosterone)

If you're reading this and nodding your head along and thinking this might be you, then we need to talk. All the skin care in the world can't help, if we don't address the hormonal imbalance.

I've opened my books again, and taking on a limited number of nutritional clients; and I'd love to work with you.
