If, despite your best efforts, you have come down with the flu or a nasty cold, make sure you rest and hydrate. Hot liquids like this Flu Fighter Tea, are soothing to the throat, and help to break up congestion and lessen your symptoms.

Bring 1 litre of water to the boil and add: 

1 tb honey, 2 tsp fresh grated ginger, 1 slice lemon (skin on), 1 cinnamon stick, ½ tsp cinnamon powder, 6 cloves, 1 clove garlic, ¼ tsp fresh chopped chilli. 

Continue to boil for 1 minute, then cool and drink the warm tea freely throughout the day
